Good deal at Sears:

http://www.sears.com/vaughan-19-oz-...p-00938233000P?prdNo=4&blockNo=4&blockType=G4

$26.99 gets you this hammer and prybar - both made in USA.

I own the 23 oz version of this hammer (which normally is not cheap - I paid $45 for it) and I also own the same prybar which has held up to seriously heavy use.

The 19 oz hammer is a bit lighter obviously and won't hit as hard but is still good. It has a nail holding slot which I have found to be very useful, especially when swinging overhead.

A coupon for free shipping would make this good deal great.

Oh yeah and vaughan appears to have updated their site - emphasizing the whole USA thing:

I actually just bought that prybar at lowes a few days ago. It was $14 by itself. I actually prefer Estwing hammers though.

For wood handles, I like the Vaughan - I prefer the Estwing all steel hammers though. I use both interchangeably depending on the job.

I use estwing as well for concrete construction, but for people who swing hammers most of the day they are heavy

I wish they made a big heavy steel hammer with a knurled head.

I'm a big dude and I prefer the Stanley 28-ounce FatMax, but it's made by those who wear pointy hats.

Vaughan and Estwing both make a 28 ounce all-steel hammer with milled face. You should be able to find them at Home Depot/Sears/Amazon etc.
