Home Depot in Aspen Hill, MD has Vaughan framing hammers (USA Made) with wood handles for about $13 each. They were in a large cardboard display box in the middle of the store. Other stores may have it too.

It's a good price, but when you already have two waffle heads, you don't need em. Also, the head is small for doing framing. I think they're only 20oz.

I had to go get a couple, for 12.88 made in the USA. Most of them were gone, but there were a few left

Too small, too light and I prefer metal or fiberglass IMO. I have a Stanley anti-vibe with a milled (waffle) face I really like.

My store was out of these this afternoon but I managed to pick up the last 2-pack of Wiss snips for $13

I agree, its a little on the light side but still useful. The Vaughan hammer I have is a 23 oz blue swept wood handle. It is great for framing and I am happy with it and don't need another wood handled hammer or I would have bought one.

Vaughan hammers are real good, I still have an old one that got passed down to me and it's still going strong.

I ordered online for $10.41 after sales tax with in store pickup using the promo code "PICKUP2012" Thanks OP not that I really needed another hammer but at that price I just couldn't resist.

to me a 19oz is not a true framing hammer. a 23oz is a big boy compared and can drive a nail home. my home depot has them for $12 and its odd that nobody is really grabbing them up like the past vaughan deep discount a few years back
