Garazzo is vastly different from epoxy coatings and other commonly used resin technologies used on the market today. Our company has experience with epoxies and was concerned about their high rate of failure and limited lifespan. Vault developed Garazzo as an alternative to epoxy and other common floor coating resins.
Garazzo is based on acrylic technology and shares the same chemistry used to create Plexiglas, optical goods, artificial prosthetics, dental bonding materials, and - of course - specifically formulated reactive resins used in commercial and industrial flooring systems, road marking resins, civil engineering products and solid surfacing materials.
Applied as a floor coating, Garazzo results in a wide variety of technical and design criteria, including durability, reduced life cycle costs, time savings, and ease of maintenance, versatility and aesthetics.
Here are a few of the many unique features that distinguish it from other resinous flooring materials:
* Epoxy is a paint that coats the surface of concrete and has a high rate of delamination; Garazzo forms a welded bond with concrete and will not delaminate.
* Garazzo is highly resistant to chemical and mechanical abuse (it is DOT approved as a coating on roads, so you will find it on bridges, highways and places like Bristol Motor Speedway where it is used to patch this NASCAR racetrack).
* Because Garazzo has the same basic functionality of carbon-carbon double bond groups (-C=C-), it cures exceptionally fast (you can drive on Garazzo one hour after it is installed). Because of their unique technical nature, Garazzo can only be applied/installed by trained, authorized, professional applicators. As such, Garazzo is not a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) product.
I hope this answers some of the questions you have about this unique product.
Thank you.
