Hi,
I've built a new bay on my existing 2 bay garage. This will be used for car restoration and modification. I'd like to put in one of those checkerboard floors. I am concerned that since this will bay be used with engine cranes, transmission jacks, welding grinding etc. that only Epoxy will hold up. Is there anyone who has one of the Racedeck type products or VCT and does this heavier auto work that can chime in with problems they've had? I'd like to use the VCT, but figured it would dent, or otherwise be ruined by my engine crane or ****** jack.

Thanks for any help....

Well I guess since I didn't get any reply's that no-one with a VCT or racedeck type floor does any engine or transmission remove or replace. In one of my other bays I have rustoleum epoxy and that has held up well, even under my abuse. I guess I'll go with that again, and do without the nice looking checkerboard VCT.

I have a 4 post lift on top of my floor ( Race Deck) and it works great. I have pulled the motor out of my vette using a Cherry picker and it has held up great.

Thanks for the reply 65vetteracer. I would have never guessed that racedeck would hold up to the psi the engine crane puts on each wheel when lifing an engine. Thanks for setting me straight, I'll look into the racedeck again.
