Hi Guys, I am debating between laying down ceramic/Porcelain tiles and VCT's in my 2 car garage (approx. 440 sq. ft.). I have been reading alot of the information here regarding laying down VCT's in the garage but I have a few questions I was hoping someone here can help me with. First is that my garage currently has an oil base paint on it which is peeling up in some places and I was wondering if it would be ok to just scrap the peeling areas and apply the tile adhesive over the remaining paint or if all of the old paint needs to be removed? My second problem is that I have a couple areas of the floor that has settled over the years and dips down about 1/4" or so and I was wondering if the VCT's will mold with those dips or if they will pop up? And my last question is what type of clearcoat have you guys used to seal the seams from water seeping between the tiles? My garage is located in Connecticut and is used for our daily drivers so the floor will get wet. Sorry for the long post but thank you very much for any help and information you guys can give me.
