My wife and I installed VCT on Sunday, easy to install, just time consuming.*** I really like the way it turned out.I have some finishing/trim work to complete.want to thank Jason B, Mac Attack and Paul V for their tips, input and candor about the product and experiences..and everyone else who put the 2 cents in..thumbup:As with other VCT posted, I used armstrong tile and S-750 glue and followed Jason V's instructions. Also used the pro-force floor wax form Sams, put on two coats.....very good shine...to need to buff...will post link later with better pictures

Hopefully your wife won't give you as much stuff as mine gives me everytime I mop the floor :bounce:

I haven't mopped my epoxy floor in about 2 months and it's driving my wife nuts. Between having patio furniture, grille, fire pit, and a bunch of landscaping supplies on one side and all of the dirt that is getting tracked in while I put in a new patio, it isn't worth it to try to clean it right now. She was begging me to do anything to make it cleaner yesterday.

Floor looks good.* Can you post some pics of the cabinets?
best pics i could find, should do the trick....Cabinets are just steel cabinet from the 1940's....The chemical company I work for tore down an old lab, before starting, the investment recovery dept put the all the hardware/fixtures up for bid for the employees.....I picked up 11 units at 15 bucks a piece...* I painted them red with 100% acrylic paint,* the paint does wonders for them....they were green, tan and white...(no rust)* each unit is 48"x22"...* some have aluminum handles and hinges and the other have solid brass handles and hinges...The sad part is that once the demo contractor start demolition, nothing else could be bought, not even from the demo company....everything had to be scrapped...they were hundreds of the cabinets getting crushed and piled into roll-offs:(
I assumed that they would have sold most if not all of the cabinets......only if I had known:mad:

so if I start growing a second head...I'll know why:lol_hitti

I made the counter tops with 3/4" plywood and 1" oak for the edging and 6" pine back splash...(cheap) put on 3 coats for marine grade urathane.

Whats the cost of the tile and where did you get them????? LOOKS GREAT TOO

68 cents each or $30.60 a box. Ordered them from Home Depot...they have some in stock but colors that I did not want...HD has a sample box with about 30+ colors
Lowes also carries Armstrong tile...

I was a little concerned about the slickness of the floor when wet, I've got to tell ya....its not that bad....I have been in and out of the garage this evening during a rain storm....once with dress shoes (home from work) and the rest of the time with flipflops, not to bad...the hardwood floors in my house seem to be more slick than the garage, maybe it is the floor wax that I used. friction is about the same as a typical hospital floor while walking on with wet shoes....point being.......I am relieved about the slickness of the floor or the lack of....

Looks great!!! I haven't waxed mine yet. but will soon with the pro-force wax. That shines good! Just two coats and you didn't do any buffing? I don't think I'm going to buff it. Looks great with two coats in your pics!

ah...wasn't easy at first, memory *****....

each cabinet has a catagory of stuff.

a few has 73 Corvette parts, one has car cleaning fluids in bottom compartment while the top 2 draws have the car cleaning towels etc.....

I have not labled each door/drawer yet, but plan to, I picked up some thin plyable magnets at HD, they are used to stick business cards of what ever to them. I plant on printing out lables and sticking them to the magnets....this will allow me to re-organize with out trying to peel off a permanet lable. They hold a lot of stuff

just realized and I should have been a little more clear...the picture of the floor while looking toward the outside was taken about 30 min after the second coat.
The shine did deminish by about half after drying...
but still has a great reflective finish...the picture taken outside of the garage looking in is more representative...

wax it when you can wait a couple of days before driving on..it drys fairly quick..but takes a while to fully cure...

Based on comments from Mac Attach, from day 1, I have used extra tiles to park on to keep the white tile from turning brown from the tires

Are you parking on top of spare black tiles? If not, is it discoloring any of your other color tiles?

Sure looks nice. I really like the color combo.

yes, parking on...
so far no.....but good point, I may pull out some extra white tiles and place them on the white part of the checked floor....

Lowes has aluminum diamond plate, about 12"x18"x1/8", may find a way to use for parking pads....

I would think if enough wax is applied, there should be no tire discoloring:headscrat.....maybe

your floor (garage) looks great as well..

Uhhh, I don't think so. I park my cars on dark tiles which are waxed regularly and still they are stained. Its a chemical reaction between the tires' rubber compound and the VCT.
