VCT Staining question.....

I have had my VCT floor for about three years now. I have mats for the cars to sit on, but have noticed when a spare tire sat on one of the lighter VCT tiles for a couple of days it left a dark yellow/brown stain where the rubber met the floor.

I do have the floor done by a service that does Dr.'s offices and stuff.

Question is.... Is it the tire reacting with what they use on the floor, or the VCT itself?

Thanks in advance,
Jason

The numerous tire compounds will react chemically with the vct. I don't know of any product that you can use on your tiles that will totally prevent this staining (other than a chunk of carpet under your tire patch). :)

There are threads on this forum which detail the various steps you can take to try and remove these brown stains.

Search is your friend.

So its the VCT, thanks... Thats what I was wondering.

I tried searching in Flooring Forum for VCT STAIN, VCT STAINING, TIRE MARKS, ect.... Nothing.
