I have been looking around for a while now on what to do about my floor. I'm leaning more towards the tile route. Can somebody give me an idea on where to look for these at. Anything I need to know about these, or anything I dont need to know. I saw some at lowes (not the color I wanted but I guess they could order more for x-tra $) and they was priced at .68 cents a sq ft. Has anybody found them any cheaper.

I just bought 495 sq ft Armstrong VCT at Lowes last week for $285. They have 20% off special order flooring right now. They come in a multitude of colors and I plan to install mine this coming weekend. I'll post pics once I'm finished.

I did mine 2 years ago and bought from Home Depot. They don't charge extra for special ordering the colors you want. I found them on sale and then got a second discount for opening a charge with them. I don't recall the exact price but it was between .45 and .50 per foot. BTW I have had no trouble with the tiles at all.

Bought mine at Lowes with 20% special order flooring deal. It's been in about 3 weeks and I love it. Non-checkerboard install.....

Lowes doesn't charge extra for special colors. My lowes only had black and white, but the special order colors were at no extra charge and you got the 20% off. They truly are the most cost effective way to put flooring in the garage, in my opinion. I did research on epoxy and other more expensive options, but I went with VCT to get a finished look at a fraction of the cost.

Those are peel and stick? Damn that looks good, and you have a maid to buff your floors too? NICE.

I did 680 square feet of tile and bought extra of each color for repairs, if needed, down the road. Bought the tiles at Lowes during their 20% off special order flooring deal. I have right at $600 invested for the whole thing, including 4 gallons of adhesive and the trowels. The maid (SWMBO), however, costs significantly more than that but she's worth it )

Lowes can get the entire ARmstrong Excelon line. Home depot can order it too. View the tiles at http://www.armstrong.com/commfloori...dard-excelon-imperial-texture/_/N-75hZ1z141ye. If you go to www.lowes.com and search for Armstrong excleon you will find it. The stuff I used was $30.48 per 45 sqft or $0.68 per tile. WIth the 20% off it's $25 a box.

I ended up ordering a sample book from the Armstrong website to select my colors. You have to tell them a white lie and state that you are a contractor. I also told them that I was doing 2000 sqft, which is true. My neighbor did 600, I did 680 and two others are going to do it after they saw the results.

I used the S-750 adhesive for my install and am happy with the results. They also have an epoxy adhesive for use with these tiles which I believe would make them nearly bullet proof. I don't do much auto repair anymore so I don't need the epoxy. My woodworking tools like the tile just fine and cleanup is now a lot easier than it used to be.

Hope that helps.

...looks good!

But I have a concern with any plastic or rubber tile floor. How does it breathe? Does the moisture in the slab get trapped under the tile, and will water seep into the seams or joints of the tiles?
Also, what does it sound like when you walk across those floors?
Thanks...

VCT (tiles) are glued to the concrete, tiles sound like you are walking across a bare concrete floor beacause they are boned to the floor unlike the hard plastic (polyethylene) tiles that float on top of the concrete.

Not sure about the moisture, I will be installing my tile this weekend. I have performed serveral moisture test in my garage over the lst year, different locations and seasons,, not moisture. should not be be an issue for me. Surface water may get in the seems, but I plan to keep the floor sealed.
