Was wanting to know what the final verdict is on vct in a home shop setting with occasional welding cutting n grinding. How much cost with i have in glue for a 30 by 72 and would like to epoxy the top if that makes it stronger. searched the best i could but vct doesn't work in the search engine and on google it was mostly older posts

Hi, there should be a lot of posts about using VCT. It is also not recommended to epoxy on top of it, we have seen bad results, peeling, and adhesion issues since VCT is not a satisfactory surface for coatings in our opinion.

I am interested in this because I am also looking into using VCT in my 40 x 80 barn I just built. From what I gather, any surface other than bare concrete will have problems with welding. To overcome this you would need to use a welding blanket for protection when welding.

Also, from what I understand if you could put epoxy over it instead of just waxing it, would only add protection for gas, brakekleen and other solvents. I was planning on using a large drip pan. Might be a hassle but like the looks of VCT and cost is relevantly cheap.
