Vehicle Door Protector - wall

We recently got my wife a new 2012 Durango. Unfortunately it is a little tight in our garage. She asked if there was any way to put a bumper of sorts on the wall to protect the Durango's doors. Normally I would just tell her to not open them so far, but unfortunately she is trying to squeeze our 8 month old in car seat through the rather small opening. Even I have had troubles getting the car seat through without holding the door away from the wall. So does anyone have any great suggestions or existing posts on this problem?

My Dad took and screwed pipe insulation to the wall in his garage. The type that is like a long foam tube. I believe he used fender washers and drywall screws to mount it. Super cheap and very effective

I would go with what Fudge did, or go with the first link from Sams Club. Read the bad reviews first on the one from Amazon.

You need something soft, with a bit of 'give' to it, otherwise, it's going to leave some marks on the door.

You can also go find a decorative type rug or wall hanging of some type, & hang it in the area that the door may hit.

A 'Dodge' floor rug or similar may look better than a short strip of foam or rubber.

I have some car show posters on my wall in some cheap frames with plastic covering the poster (as opposed to glass). Two are placed (unintentionally) right where I need them for my CX7 doors....and they have just enough "give" that the paint on the doors hasn't been damaged.....at least so far (about 2 years).

Consider rubber floor duct for electrical cords.
On Amazon I saw Wiremold CDI15 Corduct On-Floor Cord Protector, 15-Ft
Other folks make same stuff but Wiremold is well known. I've seen it on floors in offices in colors - ivory, tan, gray. Haven't tried mounting to wall but assume there are numerous ways depending on the tools and hardware you have available cheap. That might include two sided tape, velcro tape, or plastic anchors. Since it is rubber and could sag in the middle, I am thinking easiest way is two sided tape to fitted piece of thin strip of plywood or similar backing. Make hole in wood backing at each end where you plan to anchor it to the wall with fasteners.

Just post a solution after you find one so we will all learn another new trick.

I had same problem , I tacked carpet samples to the wall, now car door hits carpet sample[ rubber backed carpet]. Works great.......

I got a horse stall mat. Its thick rubber. I cut that into 10in strips and attached it to the drywall. Ive had no door damage in the 3 years its been there. 1 mat was enough for the entire garage.
