I think we should have a separate section. Thoughts?

That's my thinking. Could include troubleshooting, pictures, etc. Tools has it's own section, but I think vehicles/bikes/etc are just as important and should be sectioned off. When you want to post about cars and such it has to go in off topic, but garages are made for cars! Not fair!

Rides having its' own Section?

Now there's an idea that is ripe for the pickings. Along with a separate section for lifts/storage systems. It's a well know fact that the “power's to be” likes to keep the number of sections to a minimum. Along with even elimination the free parking section all together. But we may have better luck when it's Bmwpower's idea...

Another thought might be to set up a political section. Allowing all the BS threads posted there. And leaving free parking to only garage items not included in other sections. Like cars, trucks, lifts, shelving and alike..

Well stop thinking about it. Lets have some action on that good idea.

You can move 'The Beast Runs' to it.

And feel free to move "My 1914 Cadillac thread" in the new section as well...

I wish I could do it, but this ain't my place and I don't have rights.

When stuff goes to Free Parking, it gets lost in the shuffle. I think tools and cars/trucks/bikes are the most important aspect of the garage...outside of the garage itself.

Comon' other people, chime in....

More sections = more monitoring. I run a message board and I get requests
all the time for more sections. (Just saying, I do agree with ya on this one)
As long as you have plenty of site junkies (people who spend hours here ea
and every day) to help monitor the new section your ok, but if you don't it
could go off topic too fast to control. (Again, I'm just saying, I like the idea)

A couple of members names ( OCG & Etek ) have been put forward in another post on this topic with the idea they will help as to moderation etc.

That's the hardest part, and since you have it covered I see no issues.

(Other than adding the section to your bb format and giving it a name)

I don't see the need. There are plenty of other forums available to discuss cars, bikes, etc.

You can never have too many sources of information. For guys like me who get into projects and use the internet as a resource for expert advice, the more the better. I am a member of vehicle specific forums for all my rides, but sometimes you get skewed responses on those sites. I "rides" section here would be great IMO. Threads would not get lost so easily in the "my dog got into it with a porcupine and lost" threads. No offense to whoever that was. It would just be a great way to seperate out some of the information to get more visibility by people who might be able to contribute to it. My 2 cents:thumbup:

Agreed, I also am a member of vehicle specific forums, but I might not
ask a question over there that I would actually ask here. (Vice Versa)

I have no power here, but I too like the idea, however I am a Noob
& don't want to ruffle their feathers either. Maybe you need a poll?

I was referred here by a motorcycle board, and then referred again by IMBOC.com (a board dedicated to the Mustang Bullitt edition cars).

I think car and bike specific sections would kinda detract from the basis of this forum. I really need help with my garage and I know I will get that help here, and can even offer some advice on home repair type stuff. For my Bullitt and my motorcycle I would probably get more detailed info, and give more detailed info at those other sites. Just my opinion.

Based on what you just said Yota maybe the simple solution is to
just MOD that section better? (Don't kill me, just an observation)
