I picked up an 1981 USS-8-64 last night...looking forward to restoring it. It appears to be in great shape but it does have a few dents along the back edge. What's the best way to straighten these out?

I'll post pics later once I can get a few shots...

In the shop, we have a Beverage Air brand kegerator (with a keg of Shiner Bock in there now), plus a conventional fridge for soda, snacks and age lagers...

Our electric bill for the shop last month (lights, fridge, kegerator, air compressor) was $20.

Here's a pic like the one I picked up last night...

Ahh yes... from what I know the 86 will vend cans and bottles.

Do yourself a favor and download and print the manuals for your model... It comes in handy.
You can also call some of these restoration businesses and they have been very free with there knowledge and experience. For that in returned I ordered some small parts and they were more than appreciative to hand out more information...

Also look into the Electorlytic Rust Removal with Sodium Carbonate, water, battery charger and some sacrificial metal (I just use a metal bucket). This of course assuming your going to clean it up some. It is a great way to remove rust while your sleeping or working or both:wtf:... Don't put stainless into it! It creates a bio-hazard.

Good for you... I have no idea why but it's fun to vend a drink~!

Hi everybody

I wanted a vendingmachine too but they are very hard to find i Scandinavia, so to make a long story short, I built my own machine....well kind of. Take a look. I bought an old ugly brown colored machine from the 80`s
restored it and added extra parts such as the round-top. I had a welder build it for me. The vents are regular vents mounted on brick-walls outside bathrooms. The coindoor is a stainless steel servingtray from an industrial kitchen.

Hey Thanks, you guys..

I am working on a new one half the size of the 7up-model. It is going to be a Coca-Cola machine in the end, i hope. The 7up i got for free, i was working in a bank at the time and they decided to change to a newer model and i could have it if i took it home with me that afternoon. Lucky. I saw the "Coca-Cola" machine in an add, selling it for about 500.- danish kroners, that would be 91.-US dollars. Picked it up the same day.

The chrome-feet on the machines are from a industrial meat-cutting machine. The chrome trim between the white and green paint are from a Autoparts Shop and normally for cars but it worked fine here too.
The aluminium kick-plate at the bottom of the machine are an aluminium profile for doorways.

I have the Pepsi machine similar to The Hot Rod Grill. Keeps beer cold and was a novelty when the kids were small. Now I might have to put the price up to keep the teenager and young adult out of it.

Truly, if we are just richer I wish we could have our personal Snack Machines. I will choose the ramen maker machine for adults. For our children I will give them a candy bulk machine, but they have to insert a coin before getting any candy, that way I can teach them to save their money.

Not a vending machine, but the soda fountain in my garage is a fully-operational 1950's Bastian-Blessing. I keep it stocked with Pepsi, Root Beer, Orange, Grape, Cherry and Vanilla syrups to mix with the carbonated water. I picked up one of these old Vendo 56 square boxes last year. I would love to find more items of interest like a gas pump, air pump.

Damn, sounds just like the one in my garage! Let's see some pics of yours!

Growing up my best friend had one of those vintage Pepsi bottle vending machines in his garage. The kind with the narrow refrigerator door where you pulled a bottle out after paying... His dad kept it stocked with cans tall 16 oz. cans of beer. We quickly discovered that the cans of beer could be pulled out by grabbing the can edge with a needle nose pliers. His dad always said "Damn, I swear I had more beers in here!".

Funny timing!

I live near a very very popular biking trail.

I’ve been thinking of a soda machine set up with cold drinks for cyclists and such for spring/summer time.

Even though I do mowers, I was thinking of dabbling in bicycles, or at least be a friendly place for cyclists to have a repair facility.

And having a soda machine or vending machine to make an extra couple of $$ would be **** lol

Now off to marketplace for some perusing!

I'd think most bicyclists are going to be just looking for a water tap to refill the water bottles they carry with them.

That’s what I mean.

Water, sports drinks, electrolytes, etc etc.

Or if I fix the pitcher pump where I think my well is, they can just pull up and grab some water from the well. It wouldn’t cost anything to run it. Just have a donation box for the well water if they’re so inclined. But not necessary.

Just a thought though. I’m in a good area far between any “stores”, liquor or grocery. And I’m <mile from the bike trail.

Dad had a Pepsi machine in his TV shop. He bought it from the distributor and stocked it himself. One selection button was permanently marked "Out of Order". If you pressed that one, you got a cold Miller High Life. That was for "after hours".
