My wifey is just getting started in refinishing old furniture - some of the pieces are starting to separate - she has been told to use/glue a sheet of veneer to replace the top piece that is coming off, my question is does anyone have a sure fire way to replace this ? how do we glue it and what do we glue with?

Google wood veneer work on Youtube and the net.

The veneer you have is either pulling up or damaged so it either needs re-gluing to keep it down, or replacing, if some is missing.

You can use hide glue which would allow the veneer surface to be glued down and not require clamping -which would probably be a challenge on an assembled piece of furniture.
