So I'm having issues with my heater. Was working fine, then suddenly it shut off, pilot and everything. Figured the thermocouple went bad, so I just installed a new one 20 minutes ago. Same issue. Obviously that wasn't the problem. Only thing I can figure is the valve assembly has failed and it thinks there isn't enough oxygen so it's shutting itself off. Mind you, this has been installed and working fine for the last 6 or 7 years. Nothing has changed. Any bright idea's?

I had to clean the pilot sensor this fall to keep the flame going and I cleaned out the oriface in the pilot, damn spiders were laying eggs inside during the summer.
Open up the unit, fire up the compressor and blow everything out. Clean the sensor, and using a small bristle brush clean the tubes.

Glo-Warm blue flame wall mount heater. I believe it's the 15k btu model. Don't really want to unbolt it from the wall to get the actual model number. The pilot sensor is the thermocouple so unless the new one is bad out of the box that's not the problem. It also worked fine since we fired it up in September. This problem just started last week.

Same tank we've been using, matter of fact, same tank that has been hooked up for the last few weeks and it was working fine. We're not out, hot water and stove still work fine, tank is about half full.

The only thing left in it is the control knob assembly. I wont replace that, I'd buy a new heater first. Just surprised that would've failed and thought I'd ask here first.

I have one in my office for 20 yrs and another in a house for 15. The one in the house needs to be blown out on occasion. It fails to start like the one the OP has. Gets a little flake of sheet in it one may not even see and they are fussy, rightly so.
I blow the screens off lightly before season. Never replaced a part on one.

Wow, you guys nailed it as usual. Blew it out, immediately noticed a difference in the color of the flame. Seems to be working great so far. I think we got it! Thanks again!
