Vent with window or install e-fan in wall?

Hi guys,

New home has a 18x26' detached garage, insulated walls and ceiling. Only 120V power so any decent e-heater is out of the question (nor do I want to pay to run it).

Looking at this: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...25K%2BBTU%2BConvection%2BHeater.jsp?locale=en

Being a cautious person, I want to properly vent this thing. I have a window I can open (although it seems counter-intuitive).

Would an electric wall vent be any more efficient? It gets pretty cold here in Ontario and I plan on using the shop most of the winter...

Looking for ideas.

I will get a C02 detector for this setup as well.

Thanks.

Just a few things for you to consider.

1 Propane does produce alot of moisture during the combustion process
2 Your going to need some sort of combustion duct introduced to the space in which this heater will be running.
3 Your going to need a carbon dioxide detector before you need a carbon monoxide sensor. This because propane produces carbon dioxide when burnt so once the entire garage fills with carbon dioxide and the heater begins to burn the combustion products for a second time this is when carbon monoxide is produced. By that time you have replaced all oxygen in your garage with carbon dioxide and your laying on the floor passed out from lack of oxygen. Now this of course is worse case scenario but could be a reality based on the envelope of your garage.

may not be worth the risk 5 kids just died in miami while letting a car run to charge the battery in a downstairs garage. till you can find a more permanent and safe heater you might consider a kerosene or propane space heater
