I'm thinking about grabbing a Snap-On or Blue Point blow gun tomorrow off the Snap-On truck, But what is the difference between a vented and a non-vented blow gun? Which one would be better to get?

Vented are for safety. Some jobs required to use vented blow gun because of OSHA Regulations.

The last vented one I had, I ended up taping over the vent part.

Don't waste your money with the Snap On ones. Had a few at work and they were no better quality than the ones in the $2.99 grab bin from Napa.

I might just end up getting the Blue Point one. I use my Grandads at work, and it is great.

i've always just used a standard non-vent mainly because i didn't know the other type exsisted and because they are cheaper. the cornwell truck that come by carries the Typhoon brand and he says people seem to like them okay.

This is the Blue Point I have and it works great. Not bad for 25 bucks IMO

I think I got two from HF for $1.99, one like that, and one with a 24" nose, haven't had a problem with either in 10 years or so.

Typhoon blow gun
last gun you'll ever buy....unless you pick up another one for the house like I did.

they also make different tips for them as well

This one is amazing!

What kind you want depends on what you want to use it for. The typhoon is good for maximum power and flow. Tried one out once, still haven't got one yet.

This style is good for sealing a hole so you can blow it out.

a vented gun simply vents the pressure if there is an obstruction at the tip. basically it stops the idiots from ramming 120psi of shop air into their bloodstream.

Does it leak constantly, or is there some kind of a pop-off valve in it?
