Venting Question

I recently installed a Mr. Heater 80,000 btu unit in my garage. I have it vented horizontally out the side wall. I installed a wall thimble for my category III vent pipe to pass through. The pipe is 5 feet long due to my soffits being deeper then normal and to make sure I make the clearance from my gutters. My question is that the vent pipe is resting on the outside of the thimble. Can it do that or is that to much heat transferred onto the thimble? It is only touching the thimble on the exterior part of the house. The interior is not touching. I 2 pictures showing the inside and outside. Do I also need to attach a strap to the outside to lift it off the thimble or should it be ok resting on that part? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks

That thimble is designed to do exactly what you are doing with it. To hold hot pipes away from combustible materials. It will not conduct enough heat to burn your framing.

Run the heater and touch the thimble near it's outer edges. You'll see.

Isn't that vent pipe triple walled? I am certainly not an expert in this but as far as I know you should not have a problem if you are using the correct vent pipe.

CAT III is single wall stainless.
It is preferred the pipe be centered in the collar.
Referer to the pipe install instructions most say support is required on sections over 36”.
Most instructions say seal the gap with high temp silicone to avoid water leaks.

The is CAT III vent double wall with fresh vent for some applications like Pellet stove and direct vent through the wall applications.
