Vermont American screwdriver

I found an older American screwdriver today in my house. No clue where it came from. It is a smaller pocket type screwdriver. Has the numbers 49608 stamped in handle. Also marked USA".

Anybody got any ideas on this one?

My question was/is does anybody know anything aboout Vermont American Screwdrivers, when were they made, are they still made?

you could just check them out, Vermont American is still an existing brand, its just part of Bosch now and mostly imported.
