Versa Vise knock off questions

Found this wonderful forum while researching vises.

Haven't found a Versa Vise at a price I'm willing to pay. Saw the Shop Fox in person at a local tool store for $52 and see that Yost has the mav 3.5 at about $15 more. Both made in China. Then there is the Will Burt reproduction at http://www.willburtversavise.com/shop/versa-vise/ at $75 but online doesn't look that much better. It will be used mostly for working on guns and does not need to be heavy duty but I do prefer to buy the best quality for the money. If I had to judge by looking at a picture the Yost would probably be the winner but would prefer to buy American. There just doesn't appear to be a true American made new production available except the one Brownells but it is higher than a used Versa Vise on ebay and gets very poor reviews.

Many here are much more knowledgeable than I am would appreciate your advice.

I have to say the Vise threads on this forum spark my interest for all things antique and unique.

Any advice on the Versa Vise "like" vises?

FYI - I bought a Versa-Vise from Brownell's probably 30 years ago, and still use it almost every day. I have no idea what they sell for now or back then, but it has been well worth the price for me.

The current Brownell's versa vise is about $300 and from the reviews sounds no better than the $52 Shop Fox. It would be nice to find one of the models like you have.

Holy Smokes! I think I paid around the Shop Fox price for mine way back then. For $52, I'd give it a try.
