It took 3 months but my KTC PJ-150 combo pliers from Japan finally came in. Comparing them to the Tekton(Wilde) 37122 pliers, which excluding shipping cost are about the same price, the fit, ergonomics, finish, tooth cut and aesthetics are much better on the KTC’s.

KTC is the winner.

Thanks for the comparison. I like the "looks" of the Tekton over the KTC simply because the Tekton looks like traditional slip joint pliers.

Something about "fancying up" the lowly slip joint seems a bit off to me.

Those KTC do look like they'd have a better bite though.

I have more than enough slip joint pliers. Even keep one in the kitchen junk drawer. Gave one to my brother too. I was helping him fix something at his place. A slip -joint plier was the right tool for the task. He didn't have one. I had to go home and get one of mine, then I left it with him. I asked him how can you NOT have one of these ? He has other tools though.

I don't normally use combo pliers or slip-joint pliers (hate them), but those KTC look nice! I'm a sucker for German and Japanese tools, so I don't blame you for buying them. :)

Agreed, I've owned the set of these for years, and they're great pliers. I love not having that protrusion on the side of the pliers, they fit into some really tight places.

Yeah, the Flush Fastener pliers are far more useful than the traditional style. I have some Wilde, and Proto (Wilde with a lighter shade of red grips) pliers that are great for general purpose grabbing, and the nut doesn't get in the way, or snag in the tool bag pouch.

Owning the Wilde "Flush Fastener" model was the reason I didn't even hesitate to offer my old Proto 278 slip-joints to another member here yesterday to fill a space on a display board, and the Proto 278 has been my "go to" pair for over 40 years.

You should have posted a WTB and I would have sold you a pair so you wouldn't have to wait.
