Yes they are for removing the drawers.
If you warned a vintage toolbox in nice original condition, you'd be hard pressed to find one better

That is a very nice setup, the odds of finding an original paint box in that condition are pretty slim. Price is not cheap but for a Snap On collector in the area I think it is reasonable. I have paid a good chunk of change for vintage Craftsman boxes and only one aproaches that condition.

I have that same set minus the mid section. The side box kinda *****. You need to have a free space next to your box so you can open it. This is a really nice set up and in that condition.

Yeah, how does one prove it's vintage/original paint, and not a restoration? There's a lot of restoration threads around here showing how easy it is to re-do one of these boxes from junk to pristine.

That is gorgeous and I think the seller is correct in that you won't find one in better shape. For a collector, that might be just what they want and the price is fair. I think ebay is the place to find out if it has value. He does state the set up is rare and that is not true, just the condition is rare.

I think it kinda draws the line between a collector and a user. For the money you could no doubt find a newer / larger setup and dare I say more useful tool box to work out of. If you are a collector, well, how long have you been waiting and how much do you really want it in your collection?

Yes, it's probably the best of it's type.

No, not worth that kind of money to me.

Maybe, a collector will think differently. There are many for whom price is immaterial. They want it, they can buy it.
