A couple of things.
I would not pass anything along for at least a year or two until you have enough knowledge of the machine to confirm you don't need it.
Sheldon used two different crosslide configurations. One has the the dial calibrated in radius and the other diameter. On my two lathes I have one of each. So confirm and what you have. To confirm what you have put an indicator on the crosslide and turn the lead screw .050" per the dial. If the slide moves .050" then it is radius. If the slide moves .025" then it is diameter. On both of mine the compound is actual movement.
Not using my machines all the time I finally had to post a note by each machine to remind me which is which.
