Can anyone provide me with some information on this old Kennedy Kit machinist tool box? Most unusual drawer pulls. I would like to refurbish it (keep current patina) but I can't figure how to get the drawers out. No clip on guides like the newer boxes. Thanks, John

Cool box.

This old thread shows a drawer removal tool that may work for you. It's easy to make one out of a thin strip of steel.

That's a beauty!

Seems the presence of the USS and SAE tables would help to date it.

Some pictures of the slides might help.

The hasp and dents has me soured a bit…

Those aren't dents. They're merely dings.

Fixing dings is one of the funnest things about sprucing up old boxes.
It's such a good excuse for owning/celebrating a variety of hammers.

I never carry my boxes like that, so the hasp is mostly decorative.

I'd love to have one with that style pulls.

I'm not a fan of the little rectangular plastic ones, or the sharp little round ones either.
That hasn't stopped me from owning them though!

These two are for sale on CL over in Seattle for $40 each. I like the green paint on this one.

I like those two much better. I love working with metal, I can knock them around no problem, but I’d rather not. Something tells me I’d go full bore on a resto. I’d much prefer unrestored…It’s still an option, but it’s going to have to drop in price for me to bite…

Same two boxes I have on my benchtop--same color and approximate age, too. I paid $40 for one and traded for the other.
