There is somebody out there who is extremely rich and profoundly stupid.
More stupid than dropping 911 cash to snap on boxes?
Think of it this way. 81k for this to go with the car in auction means the car will fetch a 500k higher bid. People playing with that kind of money are not stupid (about money that is)

In my experience most people that are extremely rich are also profoundly stupid, especially the ones that have inherited the wealth 😂😂😂

I guess in this case the stupid person is possibly the one who separated the toolkit from the F1, or maybe the car doesn't exist anymore!!!!

I would bet the car has gone to that big salvage yard in the sky.

Bringing up another point...
I am surprised these boxes were not labeled and numbered to match the car.

Edit.....According to Google 6 of the 106 have been destroyed. Maybe the seller destroyed his car and was hanging on to this since it was the only thing he had left of the car. In my mind it would be like getting rid of your spouses clothes after they pass away!

Speaking of automotive accessories:
A fellow by me in Dania Beach, FL next-to FLL (Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Dania Beach, yes, that's its name) has a couple of 300 SL's and some 1960's Ferraris, and I'm not sure what-all else. I know one of the mechanics, and he lets me peek at the cars, when they're brought in for servicing. I think the owner of the business uses the repair shop to maintain his $$$$ collection. One of the cars has fitted luggage. I presume fitted luggage original to the car would add significant value.

A custom fitted luggage creator:

This 1964 Ferrari 500 Superfast Series I (above, interior; below, exterior) is another example of Taris Charysyn luggage.

I wonder how it got separated from the car
I guess it could be much like what happens with normal car accessories - someone in the sell chain holds onto it so they can sell it separately for more money, and buyers are either ignorant or grudgingly accept the omission.

For example in my country (Europe), used cars even from franchised dealers often won't include the floor mats, puncture repair/inflator kit, or towing eye. The previous owner will often keep them to sell on eBay separately. If they do get traded in, dealers will do the same thing.
