Very Rare Britool Sockets 5/8" Square Drive Ext sockets

I have a handful of these things.

They are around 6In long and have a Whit or AF socket at one and and an oversized square drive at the other with, instead of a spherical sprung bearing they have around flat bearing.
Among them is a 5/8" to 1/2" reducer to enable the oversized ratchet handle (push thru) to be used with conventional Britool sockets.
Anyone throw any light on these?

All the sockets have 385F stamped on them.

I would have though military except there are no arrows but there must be a collector out there that knows.

When I see Made in England Britool tools I date them to be no earlier than the late 1950’s.

Earlier tools were stamped British Made but Catalogs into the 1960’s often have images of the earlier tools to frustrate things.

5/8” drive was associated with manual tools then pneumatic or electric drivers and I see locking tabs to secure these to the driver so I assume these were made for production power tooling.
Where in the World are these?

It looks like a Britool "Capstan" wheel nut wrench set for cars.
The pic below shows one for trucks (Item 390/3 or 391/3 for obviously bigger wheel nuts). But if you look at tool no. 386, you'll see that the sizes available correspond well with the sizes you have. But you're missing the centre hub into which these extension sockets would fit.

Hay guys. That is brilliant.

Thanks so much for that info. I am in the UK by the way.
So someone, somewhere had a 'capstan' in their hands and wondered what the hell it was - and lobbed it no doubt. Shame.

I also have another rarity in brand new condition - suit the collector perhaps.
Its a PLXPS 1/2" - 3/4" Impact driver reducer.

Iirc, there should be a pin to fit through the hole in the large end to secure it to the impact/air gun and a rubber ring that then fits in the groove to hold the pin in place when in use. You might check to see if you have this pin and rubber ring so it can be offered along with the reducer, if it's for sale.
