We've got a laminate floor in the kitchen that is about 8 years old in perfect condition. In the last six months or so it has become very slippery. What can be used on it to take the slippery out of it? It has never been waxed..

Make sure a housekeeper is not using a floor cleaner like Pledge on it. My wife will occasionally use one of those Pledge wipes on a spot on our floors and I can immediately tell the difference. It is like it has oil on that spot.

Either that, or someone is being too liberal with the cooking spray.

I'd give the floor a serious going over with vinegar. Or follow the manufacturer's cleaning recommendations. Some laminate floors allow for cleaning with acetone.
