I have been hunting tools a long time and never came across a wrench like this. It seems to have the workers name stamped on it with a date. I was able to find a person with that name who retired many years ago. I have 2 of these, the other is a S wrench. Anyone come across a wrench like this? Why so thick?

Did they have cnc plasma cutters in 1931?

I'm thinking for adjusting a long nut on a worm gear that has tremendous pressure. Like you may find on an old loci or other giant machine. The long nut has many threads in contact to take the pressure and the wide wrench keeps the outside of the nut from distorting of getting chewed up over time.

It was made for breaking knee caps.

Or a big *** bolt. Either way, awsome.
