I have the Craftsman-branded version of this screwdriver (same thing as this one just branded for C-Man, Made In Japan), and I use it all the time. Super comfortable to use and very well-made. Your GJSS hooked you up!

I always thought people were crazy when they talked up a screwdriver. I have used Snap-on, Mac, Matco, USA Cman and many others. Never really noticed a difference. I bought a Vessel for my Japanese motorcycle and I fell in love. I have this set, as well as a Megadora J2.

I absolutely love the feel of the Megadora, and will be buying a full set of Megadora and Impacta screwdrivers. The JIS heads grip phillips screws better than a phillips, and don't damage JIS screws on my bikes. All time favorite screwdrivers, and I now know why people can fall in love with a screwdriver.

I sold all of my craftsman professional screwdrivers on ebay a few years ago and used the money to buy Vessel Megadora (red handle) screwdrivers. They are so much nicer than anything I had ever used. I also have the ball grip that OP posted. I use it as my go to screwdriver around my house. I'm a Vessel fan for sure.

Megadoras are for sure nice, but don't sleep on thr classic acetate handle "crystaline" screwdrivers from Vessel, or the "Power Grip" series. The megadora is a soft grip, but I hate how oil/grease stick to those kinds of screwdrivers. The acetate handled versions fit in the hand really well (especially the power grip), don't grab on dirty/grease/oil, can be wiped off easily and are just really pretty (the crystaline especially, why own ugly screwdrivers when you can get these cheap :) ).

The power grip series are very strong screwdrivers. I love to keep the small flat version in my pocket all the time, always comes in useful and does not flex one bit when prying stuff with it.

TOPTUL patterns their screwdrivers after Vessel. They pattern their wrenches after Stahlwille. If a company as big and as quality conscious as Rotar copies somebody that's a pretty high endorsement. VESSEL ROCKS!

Does anybody have Vessel Megadora 900 series that they use for a long time? I wonder how long the handle lasts before it starts deteriorating. Thinking about getting a set...

Vessel makes very good screwdriver for Japanese screws, I saw video by the flat rate master. Highly recommended both the channel and vessel

I have some 900- and 930-series Megadoras I've been using for almost ten years. The handles are just like they always were. Nothing remotely like deterioration -- barely any wear, in fact.

I'm a big fan of Vessel screwdrivers. My favorites by far.

Vessel has a new product line called "product solving bits" that were apparently announced back in May of this year.

Features

*Extra Superalloy material
All items are made of special steel "Extra Superalloy", with the highest hardness of HRC62. Since it is hard to break and bend, the tightening torque can be transmitted accurately and reliably, and screws can be tightened properly.

*DC - Cushion Bit
The cushion ring eliminates the gap between the bit and the chuck of the power tool and suppresses the runout of the bit. Suitable for narrow areas where you do not want to damage the surroundings or when careful handling is required during the work, for example, with decorative screws.

*DZ - Zigzag Bit
The jagged part at the tip-end bites into the cross section of the screw and prevents come-out. Suitable for the case that the screw should not be dropped during work, such as in a deep area where it is difficult to tighten a screw or when you do from an angle.

*DS - Slender Bit
Since the tip has a slim shape, it is easy to see small head screws such as slim screws and workpieces. Suitable for the application that the screw head should not be above the surface. Less burden of post-work by making the holes for filling the putty smaller.

*DRB - Rib Bit
The rib shape strengthens the tip-end, which is resistant to breakage in heavy load work such as drill screws. Since the bit blades are thick, they are resistant to wear and twist, and are also effective for continuous driving work with siding boards or plasterboard.

Use the camera option with Google Translate on your smartphone. It works great -- point it at the text and it does a live translation, which you can pause with a camera click to study offline.
I’m not familiar with Androids but, this is built into the camera app on iPhone now. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same on Android. Don’t even need to take a picture. Point at the text and then tap the “live text” icon.

Some decent screenshots if you scroll down this page a bit: https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-translate-text-in-photos-camera-apps-iphone/

Also, I have the same set. I use it far more than I would have expected.

Those look perfect for some of the rusty, hard-to-reach screws in my Suzuki- anybody found them in the US at a reasonable price? (amazon.co.jp wants $20 just for shipping)

Vessel is one of those 'if you know, you know' brands. Don't really seem like much and they don't cost infinity dollars, but dang if that isn't a nice screwdriver right there. The jawsfit tip on the standard megadora style works really well on super compromised, rusty fasteners that I had serious problems with my old school Craftsman phillips on. Doesn't mar new fasteners either, and the knurling on the shaft is also a great feature I didn't know I wanted until I had it.

Wanted to add just FYI that the Craftsman ball-grip was/is Made in Japan. I'm guessing by Vessel since it's identical to the 220W.

I bought a Felo set which I really liked then a Vessel to see how that jaws fit was...I grab the Vessel most the tim even for the screws that arren't compromised. The fit on the variety of P#2 has been excellent.

This Vessel screwdriver set from my GJSS is made very well.
The bits fit tight, no play, nice grip with the handle.
I wonder what the instruction say ?:dunno: (Just asking for a friend :bounce:)

What’s the difference between the two different 2’s and 3’s? Is it JIS cross point vs Philips? Or some other style? Thx!

I just got a set of 4 Vessel Armor Grip cross point screwdrivers for $20 on Amazon. While mentioned a few times on GJ, I haven’t seen very many details about them. There’s one YouTube review I’ve come across.

I have other screwdrivers of various vintages that are older and thought maybe I’d get a set of quality JIS set of cross point drivers. I didn’t spring for the full set with flat heads, since most flat head drivers don’t seem that differentiated from others.

These seem to be good quality, the price is very reasonable. I haven’t bought a ton of brand new screwdrivers so treat my advice accordingly. I guess this is a Vessel value line of drivers. They feel good, the handle texture is grippy, definitely not squishy, and the shape of the driver is clean with a matte finish.

I thought I was buying a made in Japan product (because of the brand and “Japan origin” graphic on the box), but these are made in Thailand per the fine print on the packaging.

I will use this on my bikes and other typically light projects around my house. Trying them and a few other Philips head drivers today, they felt good on a few screws. The older ones seemed to feel better on a few other screws. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ll see how they shake out as I get more use out of them over time.

The grip reminds me very much of my Hozan 10mm nut driver, also pretty sure it's not made in Japan.
