Vevor cast steel anvils - 66lb for $92 and 110lb for $145

These get regularly good reviews from those in the know.

I'm just deciding what size I want to get for general shop use - beating on, bending, etc. Possibly some light blacksmithing work in the future.....

Anyone know of any better discount codes for Vevor? Best discount code I've found that works with buying the 66lb anvil is 5% off:
klarna5

Now they have it at 40% off as of Sunday 5-19-24. That price ends in about 11 hours and it's now 12:55 Central time.
The discount code klarna5 still works for another 5% off.

40% is still going. I just pulled the trigger on the 66lb one. I need one for general shop use - not specifically blacksmithing $88 is tough to beat for something that gets good reviews all over..

here are the ebay listings for the 44 & 66. Currently 66lb is cheaper on ebay but not w/the code above

I have the same 66 lb model that I bought a few years ago. I think I paid ~$120 for it then, so the current sales price is fantastic. They're a good anvil; the top surface on mine is >RC50.

Yea grab one also total $61 and change shipped. Let’s see how my FedEx monkey handles the box that labels “ handle with care”. The last ups guy kicked the box across the truck like he’s the foolsball star despite the box had the big red letter that says caution fragile” from grizzlg

I really want a nice old anvil, but I've been keeping an eye out for years with nothing to show. I guess at this price what's it matter where it's from and maybe now a good old US one will appear.

pretty cool.

i've never priced anvils before, but just based on the weight and delivered price alone, it seems piss cheap. i'd totally grab one if only i had a use for it.

I have no use for it, it’s going to be my encouragement to either get an induction heater or build a forge… super easy to do but not cheaper though. Part wise.

think of it this way. The oversupply of China iron will drive the overinflated price of American vintage iron down. Flippers need to eat but they also need a reckoning.

Any 'smiths' see a problem w/a setup like this? Was thinking of replicating but thought vise might get in the way and only "looks cool". Since that's a hitch vise, I'd personally mount a receiver under the anvil (if space allows) to make the vise dismountable/rotatable.

My 66 lb from ebay was shipped with no packaging whatsoever and the tracking label zip tied on. Haven't had a chance to really look it over.

As a silver lining, at least they didn't stick the label directly to the face.

Good luck! I was a little curious when I got the FedEx notification and the weight was 62 lbs and change...I thought "the anvil itself is supposed to be more than that!"

From what I can see, mine looks generally ok, I don't think there was any significant damage to the face. Can't speak to the rest of the packages that shared a truck with had a bare anvil knocking around. My condolences if any of you are my neighbors and received a really rough looking box the other day :)

just got mine..... yes it's heavy. yes it's in a box. lmfao... and I saw the guy ******* drops it from shoulder to the floor... so... the box is there. just not in good shape or what nots.

**** anvil inside is intacted maybe just a few scratched paints in few areas... pretty sure more than one fedex guy goes to planet fitness or something that use this box as a dumb bell... lift it up and throw it down.

if yours just comes with a zip lock tie .... might be the fedex guys .....IMG_7077.jpeg

Thanks, good to know. I wondered if that might be the case. Yours is in better shape than mine. I had just the tiniest bit of that clear plastic left on part of the face, and it's generally a bit more roughed up

got my ebay 66 lb in an intact beat up box. There's some casting voids on the underside and on the side so I might strip the paint and see how much filler is on there. Has anyone weigh theirs yet?

I put mine on a bathroom scale and it showed 62lbs.

Mine arrived yesterday. In a box, beat up some, but nothing like the pics above. 66lb.

I pulled it out and it has plastic on the faces. Looks good overall and you can't really beat that price for something that I won't use a ton.

Depending on what you’re using it for, i Wouldn’ recommend it.

You’re losing about 90deg of work access and the top of the Vice appears to be taller than the anvil.
