Vevor garage door opener

Has anyone installed one of these garage door openers? Thoughts on how well it works? I have a 10x10 door that gets the most use since its for the bay that has my lift installed. Was thinking it would be handy to be able to open and close it with a remote.

Yes for roll up doors. I have 2 - 10x10's on my shop. They are the lower cost "storage building" type doors, but have a full drum and chain hoist. They work good and I am happy with them. My shop stays closed up all the time as I have a/c and insulation. When I bring a car out to work on it, I drive over to the shop, get out, open the door, get back in, drive in, and close the door. I try to do this in a quick fashion so I dont let all the a/c out. Just thinking for $150 it might be more convenient to have a opener on the one door so I could just pull up and drive in.

In the review section there is some good pictures and descriptions that people have done to show the modifications that may be necessary for different door drum ends. Got to go up on a ladder and do a few measurements but it looks doable and seems to get favorable reviews from real people (I think).

I am planning on getting one, they sometimes get down to around $100 on sale. Reviews seem ok. Probably a winter project for me. So if you get one first let us know how it goes and what you had to do to fit it. I figured I would have to make a little adapter coupling of some sort.

Will do. Probably a winter project as well. I dont follow Vevor, so I am not sure when they have sales. But it shows $132 after registering plus tax. I know they also sell on ebay and sometimes have items listed with "best offer" so I will probably do a little hunting around when I am ready to purchase.

I registered to buy something else so I get email coupons and deals every once in a while, not an annoying amount so maybe worth it if your planning on buying something. I got some 6ft fork extensions for my tractor on sale for around $60 total with one of their email deals. Crazy to get something that large and heavy shipped to me for that cheap.

I just purchased on on eBay. Im in the process of modify it to fit my roll up door.

I started working on my install but haven’t finished it yet. I used a piece of 1x2 tubing mounted to the end of the drum for the drive and made a bushing to fit the shaft thru the drive. Hopefully will get around to finishing it up soon.

How did that work out? I have 2 12' doors and I was thinking about doing the same thing.

It was an add on option when I ordered my roll up door. Very high quality and great tech support from the company. (I dropped the door while installing and broke the opener housing. They sent me a new housing for free no questions asked.

My neighbor has the Vevor he installed last year and has no complaints.

I splurged last year on many vevor items that i wanted but could have done without; solar stuff, ac winch, jack hammer, greenhouse, plant grow stands with lights, etc. Not one issue with the mechanicals of anything so far. Instructions are lacking but worth the patience. Doubt the costs will remain cheap with current events.

The "drive" ears on the opener will have to be trimmed off shorter because they are designed to go thru holes in the door end. I have to move the door shaft support bracket to compensate for the thickness of the operator. All pretty easy things that just take some time to work out. The one thing that slowed me down was the seal that I have at the top of my door opening. I used one of the wide rubber ones that sorta drag on the door as it goes up/down. I feel like that is going to cause an issue so I was in process of trying to figure out what to do. Might change it out for a brush style. Basically wanted to get the doors "tuned" so that they go up/down easily without any hangups.

i have the brush style and i installed them tight to keep out bugs and it is hard to open so might want to do the opener then brushes to make sure they are not going to bog the motor.

I had the rubber header seal and when it got below freezing it was too stiff and would cause the opener to trigger a safety fault thinking it was hitting something. Switched to a brush seal on top and no more issues.

I too went with the Automatic Technologies opener.
GDO 12 with the 1400N DC motor. They recommended the bigger one for the 2500 series doors and mine are 14x14 insulated.
About 8x the cost of a vevor though.
But for a 10x10 door in the OP I would probably try the cheaper vevor. Not much to throw out if it doesn't work out or is finicky.
