I'm running a Teco FM50 VFD on my mill, is there any way to set it where it's ready to run without having to push the run/stop swicth after power up?

I'm wanting to mount the whole setup in the pedestal and it will be a nuisance to have to reach in and push the button all the time.

No, you'll need to tell it to run after it's been booted up.

Just run a separate run/stop switch to whatever location is more convenient and program it to ignore the VFD's built in switch.

You could probably also use a time delay relay to actuate "run" X seconds after the main switch is turned on.

You can make and mount a remote control box that connects to the Control Circuitry Control block (TM2 - see page 19 of the manual). Wiring a switch between Terminals #3 and #5 starts the machine in forward mode, etc. Similarly, a remote potentiometer could control the speed by connecting it to the right screw terminals. Control voltage is only 12VDC so nothing special there.

I have two Teco FM50 VFDs, one on my lathe, the other on my mill. Both are set up to use the original fwd/stop/reverse switches on the machines. I just plug in the power cord and I am ready to run, no touching the VFD panel.
