I have some of the VHT stuff in the garage and its rated at 900F or 490C

I think it should work out fine.

I have a brand new trans cooler kit going in and even thou lines have some paint on them I thought to give them a extra coat.

Curing Caliper Paint
VHT Caliper Paint only attains its unique properties after correct curing. Please note that brake fluid will remove uncured paint if it comes in contact with the surface.
On the Vehicle
Paint must be dry for 2 hours before vehicle can be driven
The inherent heat of the braking operation will accomplish curing under normal driving conditions
Off the Vehicle
Bake at 200°F (93°C) for 1 hour
Reassemble after components have cooled

Could be a fly in the ointment. It needs heat curing to achieve full cure.

Most people would just install the new lines and drive the car in the salt and snow. Anything you do will improve their chances of survival.

Personally I’d just use tremclad or rustoleum, I’ve used it on brake calipers and it survived just fine, then I’d save the VHT for what it’s actually intended for.

Smear a light coat of grease on them, it's really unlikely you'll have the car long enough to rust out a second set. I'm also in the salt belt.

Thanks guys I had a can of vht so thought why not. The lines are new and have a coating already . But had little chips etc from shipping . I sanded them up with grey scuff pad and gave them 2-3 light coats . They have been drying for a few days and most likely another week till I have time to install .
