which one works better? I have been using blue loctite for many years. found something recently name vibratite VC3. Supposed to do the same thing as loctite, but can be removed and moved as needed.

So is this Vibra tite stuff as good as they advertise?

I've gone through a 2oz bottle of the blue, I haven't noticed any difference between it's holding power and the real loctite. I'll buy it again, way cheaper than loctite.

I buy over $2,000 in loctite at my work in our manufacturing process. We switched from blue 242 to blue 243. Have tried vibratite, there is a price savings but we found it didnt perform as well for our application.

Thats not to say it wont perform as well or better for some applications.

The new blue 243 is great because it works as well as 242 but can be used on stainless without a primer

They are pretty different products especially the VC-3. Which one works better depends on the application. Vibratite's selling point is re usability and staying flexible. Somewhere in a collection of papers on my desk I have a cross reference sheet with notes. Lets see if I can find it online. :headscrat

Be careful selecting on color, both companies make many different flavors in the same color from mild to wild. The greens, blues and pinks from loctite are pretty bad about this.

Personal peeve of mine is when people use color as the "identifiying factor"...IMHO, they put a Huge number on the front of the bottle for a reason...when talking about locking & sealing compounds, please use the item number.

Yeah just get a printed catalog. Numbers list the applications. Just like people think "oil is oil" and "grease is grease"
