I'm working on getting my compressor all hooked up and want to get some anti vibration mounts for it. I made the metal shelf brackets, made the platform, raised the compressor up 5 feet onto it(that was fun). Hooked the electricity up, just using the breaker for the switch for now, am going to look for a disconnect switch sometime. Changed the oil, need to get a new air filter sometime. Then need to get some pipe and wor on the plumbing.
But for now I need to secure the compressor to the platform, wouldn't be pretty if 315 pounds of compressor fell 5' to the floor! The compressor doesn't "walk" around on the platform, but does have a little vibration so I would like to do something to keep them to a minimum. I was looking at mcmaster and found these, http://www.mcmaster.com/#64875k36/=9ddyna, have to click on page 1365(not sure why I can't get the link to that page to work), style 3 or 4. They are rated for 130 to 680 pounds per mount depending on the hardness of the rubber. So any of them will work, anyone have advice on what hardness of rubber to get to eliminate the most vibrations? My other thought was to just get some rubber matt to put between the compressor and platform and lag bolt the compressor to the platform. But think the mounts are my best option?
Anyone have advice or pics of how they mounted thier compressor? Here is a picture of mine so far.
