Has anyone ever used the Grizzly Vice Brake or the same type tool under a different manufactuer? I have some .09 and .12 thick x 2" wide steel bar stock that I would like to have a nice sharp bend in. Are they good? Do what they are supposed to?

I doubt something like that would be much fun with 1/8". Hope you have a good sturdy vise if you're going to try it.

We snapped a 10" wilton vise in two using it for this.

I'm with alex, something that size with your typical 4-6" vise...well, I hope it isn't dear to you.

I have to agree, this will not do what you are asking, it is made for thinner gauge sheet metal.

The specs on this tool:

Maximum Bend...............................................90°
Workpiece Material............Cold Rolled Mild Steel
Maximum Workpiece Thickness...........14 Gauge

14 gauge is .0747

Maybe if you vise is big enough, it might work; but probably not.

Well I have a 4" Chas. Parker Vise but certainly wouldn't want to break it. Thanks for the input everyone.

If your planning on doing very much bending and have a hydraulic press you would probably be better off making a brake adapter for that using some angle and C-channel.
