A man can never have too many 11Rs. From fab work, to welding grounds, to caliper depressors, they are so versatile. Nice find.

I understood the vintage V-grips were better than the newer ones. Fair enough.

But isn't the main concern wear of the toothed jaws? Are the vintage 11R really worth more than newer pairs, given the tips probably aren't going to wear down at any great rate of speed?

Mine are from the early 2000s.

The teeth are a concern, but the made in china Vise grips are not riveted quite as tight and feel sloppy, finish isnt great either. I bought two large deep jaw c-clamps for clamping steel to truck frame, they work ok for the price. Definatly not as smooth as the US made pliers.

I agree. I think that the design / manufacturing had to change obviously because the location and equipment changed.
