I was out garage saleing with the wife and came across a vice that I grabbed for $7. I know nothing about it and it has no manufacturer stamp or embossing just a "Made in the USA" stamped on the top. I hadn't seen one like it and the price was right so I grabbed it. Any info that you tool experts can tell me about it would be appreciated.

Turns out its a Palmgren machinists table vice. Thanks for the point in the right direction.

Monkey Boots,

For the record, that type of vise in designed to be used on a drill press table. As a bench vise, it's pretty limited. Of course, if it's your only vise, do what you gotta do.

Yep...only vice for the time being. Taking the cheap finds when I can get them.
