All-
I am in process of my first vice restoration. I looked high and low and found my victim. Now I have a nice Monarch 402- and yes I know this thread needs pictures, but they will have to wait until I get home. I can't upload photos to a government computer ( :dunno: ).

So I have cleaned it all up, no more nasty red stuff! Most of the old girl got a brass wire brushing. Then I moved on to the shiny bits. Now I have polished the handle, and the slide as well as the jaws. I went down to 220 grit, and they look nice and white, but I am curious how you guys are finishing these bits, are you buffing or just leaving a slight toothed finish? Either way, should I wax it, clear coat it, oil it, or all of the above.

I am looking for the pipe jaws- mine are missing  I don't have any clue on what they should look like or if they can be purchased- any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on that front. Also- does anyone have any idea what the stamps decode to? Mine has stamped 011 on the bottom of the slide, as well as some other harder to read numbers on both the jaws.

Next step is to start taping off and priming the old girl. I promise I will shoot out some pictures as soon as I can. In the mean time- thanks for any help!
