I know there were no gas stations during the victorian era BUT. I am starting a new phase of my build so I thought I would start a new thread. I initially was planning on an old Texaco station theme for the new building that I run my used car lot out of. I have the exterior in an old Texaco theme and as I started to plan the interior sales office I started to realize that the old gas station theme would be a little to bare and austere for a sales office.
So I started to think about unique interior decorating options and I have always loved the "victorian era" of architecture and decorating. The victorian era ran from the mid 1800's to about 1900 and featured very elaborate and ornate woodwork and hand carved wood. I grew up in an old victorian home and have always loved the ornate woodwork. I also love old commercial buildings and old hotels and offices. I had a set of 101 yr old doors that I restored and I am making all of my own solid cherry wood trim.
Here are some pics to give you an idea of where I am headed with this.
