Hey everybody

I just made another how to video, this time I show you how to make a Pressurized Fluid Dispenser in your garage. I have been using an identical one to the new one that I make in the video for over 2 years with NO ISSUES, and it has had transmission fluid stored in it the entire time. No leaks, no problems.

If you ever have had to hold a quart bottle up next to the frame rail, and filled a transmission/transfer case/differential before, you will fully appreciate this tool.

These run $125+ (Mityvac), but I show you how to make one for less than $25.

And sure....you could increase the fill rate by doing 4 things.....

1. Heat the liquid first.
2. Install a larger pickup tube (the one included in the kit is 1/4" OD I think....increase that up to 3/8" or 1/2").
3. Use 1/2" OD braided hose on the outside.
4. Use a 1/2" ball valve.

The final thing you can do is to increase the pressure. I did this with my original one by drilling an additional hole in the side of the sprayer & installed a rubber valve stem....then I would hook it up to LOW pressure on the air compressor (10-15 PSI) & the flow would be steady.

I made this particular video for the average user though who would just royally make a huge mess by modifying it that much.

Anything is better than paying Mityvac an astronomical $125 for basically the same thing w/some additional hollow fill tubes.

I will have to go to Lowes and check out the fittings.....it may be as simple as drilling the hole out slightly bigger to accommodate a larger pickup tube. The barb fitting that connects the vinyl hose would be the issue.

I will post some pictures once I see some more options on this.

It may also make sense to check out various brands of garden sprayers....I used the cheapest $10 lowes special I could find.

I dont clean it out....I just use one filler per fluid type. This particular one I will be using for gear oil, so the minor motor oil residue in there wont matter at all.

Ideally I would have 3 of them.....transmission fluid, gear oil, and motor oil.

The cheapest I saw the Mityvac version was about $100. I'd be afraid after making four, I would wondering if I shouldn't have just bought theirs. Either way, I think I'll still be making one for coolant. I could just rinse that one between uses and then decide later how many more I might want.

Of course, I could also see what other pressurized containers I can come up with and put air fittings on them. This thread also made my visit the Mityvac page and see that my old Zep based bleeder is almost universal already. I just need to add a clamping mechanism that I will fabricate based on theirs and then make a smaller version for the modern round reservoirs.

Why not put the ball valve closer to the container's outlet? does it need that much length to function as a manometer or is it just your preference?

I guess you could put it anywhere along the hose that you wanted. I just prefer for it to be out that far....no real requirement or anything.
