Wow some good deals. Was going ask if this site is legit, but appears to be the vim tools website.

I wouldn't mind having a master hex socket set. But how does VIM compare to other Taiwanese brands? It looks like there are a number of comparable made in Taiwan sets on Amazon for around the same price. How does VIM compare to Sunex, for example?

Was about to buy that master set for the VIM name but it was one of their Taiwanese offerings so I passed however I bet they’re great I just didn’t NEED them.

On the other hand I didn’t need Ujoint socket adapters, magrails and a mrbitbase and ended up with those. LOL

The other drawback to the Red Hot Deal section is if purchased under that they are not under warranty so that may be a deal breaker just wanted to throw that info out there.
I don't hardly ever warranty anything so not a big deal to me, but I can see why a mechanic would want the tool truck service.

One hot deal in there is the MRBITBASE. It's essentially a VIM Magrail TL with a plastic bit holder screwed together. $7 for a 8" magrail TL!

Another thing to note is they are having a promotion on their jobber packs and they're about $30-40 less than retail.

i wonder how there oil filter sockets are verses the piece or so of the lisle? I am currently using a mac tools plastic cap for filters but it spins too easy.

I had the same dilemma. I just cancelled my Lisle 17 piece oil filter cap set and ordered the Ford & European set along with the master hex socket set. I already had the Motivx for Toyotas.

From my experience, the black metal cap styles typically aren't durable. And I think the Lisle set is made in China.

Anyways, thanks OP! Great deal.

Thanks for the tip! Ordered a couple of the bit bases, the u-joint adapters, magnetic retrieval tool, hammer drill adapter, and palm wobble ratchet.

Somehow managed to spend $200 on magrails and miscellaneous stuff. Thanks OP.

I went on a spending spree on MagRails a couple months ago... not a bad decision. Pretty sweet setup. Only issue I have now, is some of the studs aren't readily available.

VIM is a supplier for several truck brands. Generally even the outsourced tools would be higher quality than other Taiwanese brands. I have quite a few of the socket sets and have not been disappointed.

Todd,
What do you have, the Magrail or Magrail TL?
The 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1' pegs are the same on the Magrail and the Magrail TL.
The threaded studs are different. The Magrail threaded stud is square.
The Magrail TL threaded stud is rectangle and will not work on the original Magrail.

Where can I get the non TL studs?

I had to chime in and say that I bought some of those Matco branded shears and they are very nice. I'm tempted to buy more this time around but if you are looking to round out an order, they're only $9.

I have the TL. Currently, it seems that 3/8" studs are sold out.

When I ordered they (the VIM website) had the old style 1/4 and 1/2 studs. Out of 3/8 though.

3/8 is the one I needed so I didn’t order any of the others lol now maybe I’m wishing I had. I ordered a set of 3/8” studs on ebay but was able to cancel the order. Turns out they’re TL studs

got my stuff today. everything is really nice especially the pickup tools. I always liked vim's product line and design philosophy but couldn't justify getting very much, I wish I'd known about this monthly thing sooner

I received the stuff I ordered yesterday...very nice. Now it appears that they added a few things like the extra long hex drivers. The shipping cost makes it kind of prohibitive unless I buy enough to justify it. I'll keep an eye on it I guess.

i got their snap ring plier set, straight and bent, and the tips are very smooth. i tried to use them and the snap rings jumped out half the time.

anybody have these and can let me know what your experience is with these? i am wondering if roughing the tips a bit with sandpaper might help?

thanks in advance!

you know how you see something, and you think you might have a set, but you're too lazy to go down and look, and it's a screaming good deal, so you pull the trigger. then it arrives and you go to put it the box, and there is the set you bought 3 years ago. yeah, that.

I ordered the Matco extra long socket sets. They arrived today, and they are really nice. I am going to have to check the red hot deals every month.

:pimpflash I picked up the metric hex set off the Matco truck not too long ago. They are pretty nice. I ordered the tripple-square set along with too many other items.

Thanks OP. I would say that the originally linked to VIM hex set is a good buy. You guys must have bought up all the straight Matco shears before i could.

Are the tips "stepped"? Can one simply tweak/bend the tips out slightly to better hold onto a snap ring before it is seated?

Thanks for the tip.

My favorite Vim tool is this $17 mini socket & bit holder ratchet for tight spots. I love using it.

FYI: The 1/4" male is removable so you can use a 1/4" extension.

thank you so much for posting that. based on reviews it's the same as the Williams #30012 & Husky 66604. I had a husky (maybe still do but it's incredibly good at hiding) and loved that damn thing. Got everywhere and often was the only thing that could.

I just bought 2.
