Are the tips "stepped"? Can one simply tweak/bend the tips out slightly to better hold onto a snap ring before it is seated?

Thanks. The tips are round and smooth. Didn't understand what you mean stepped. Maybe I can include a picture. The straight pair has the tips slightly out (or in for the internal pliers) but it doesn't seem to help.

I have a question out to VIM about this. I'll see what they say first.

:pimpflash I picked up the metric hex set off the Matco truck not too long ago. They are pretty nice. I ordered the tripple-square set along with too many other items.

What did that set go for off the truck? Was it really $100?

thank you so much for posting that. based on reviews it's the same as the Williams #30012 & Husky 66604. I had a husky (maybe still do but it's incredibly good at hiding) and loved that damn thing. Got everywhere and often was the only thing that could.

I just bought 2.

Your welcome and you're correct, Williams and Husky would re-label them.

Used mine today rebuilding an industrial sewing machine, worked like a charm.

I honestly can't remember for sure. I want to say the regular price was advertised as $100 and I bought it on "sale" for $70-80?
Good deal. I'm way overstocked on hex bits now. Paid less for 30 bits than one oddball off the tool truck.

The SD29 will likely be the mostly manly fathead screwdriver I will ever own. Its definitely worth $12!

Am I crazy, or does that quick clamp oil filter funnel seem really cool? :)

I've been using the Motix funnel for years and love it......searched and search and bought the perfect sized tupperware-ish container for it to keep it clean so I never even have to wipe it down.

Mrbit magnets are very strong, pinched my thumb fiddling with two of them that REALLY liked each other.

Shears really nice too, used them to open the rest.

Just tried my funnel today. Yes, really cool.

I also really like the ratchet which is very compact.

Got my master hex set and a few Matco things a couple days ago. I had a moment to open and inspect today and everything looks great. I regret not picking up the little bit ratchet, but no matter. Next time I see something I’d like on their hot deals page I’ll be sure to buy it.

Just used the 17mm hex bit today to remove the fill plug on my P-car’s transmission. Very happy with the purchase from VIM.
