VIM Tools worthy

Building a mechanics set for the step son, I have spares of alot of stuff, mac, matco, snap on, knipex. Looking at VIM, see alot of nice stuff and alot of rebranded stuff as well.

Do they hold up as well as the truck brands and SK?

I'm going to help him build a nice piece together set and looking for opinions on VMI, thanks for your input.

If you were to buy a torx or hex bit driver from a Cornwell truck, it would be Vim made in Taiwan. Vim has been making many tools for most of the truck brands for many years. From Trim tools, to storage accessories Vim makes great products.

I have a bit set (ball hex and torx) that's rebranded Blue Point but made by VIM (wish i had known they made them so I could have saved a few $$) and the're holding up really well. mind you I don't use them a lot but when I have used them I've reefed on them pretty good and they worked well. as for their longevity, I don't know as I've only had them for a few months. i have heard good things about a lot of their offerings.

I have a bunch of VIM wrenches made in the US. Good stuff!

I have a bunch of what must be older hex and torx bits that are made in US by vim and they arent the best fit to fastener but they are better than matco bit sockets.

a long shank t40 torx bit is required to remove the torx bolts for the thermostat housing on 94-2000 volvo 850/70 series cars. my go-to t40 bit for that job is made by VIM. it has removed every single torx bolt with ease, the last set of thermostat housing bolts were from a car that was 13 years old with 211k on it.
