Picked up this 3/8 ratchet a while back....found the right parts,I think?

Haven't dismantled it yet,but appears that we need to,... to install the lever and pin....

Is this a press in deal?...the square end of lever doesn't quite fit the hole in ratchet....

Figured I'd ask here BEFORE I took it apart.

Check online with snap on for the repair kit listed by the part on your ratchet handle. Probably a f710.

Once you have the right lever then yes you'll have to install the lever and cam gear with spring/ball assembly and then press the rod into the lever. I use Lucas red and tacky to lube mine, but many use assembly lube or 3 in 1 oil.

I've done a few and the switch is always a tight fit.
If you're a clutz withe a hammer like I am then taking the gear out makes it easier to peen the end of the pin. Or you can just use a hammer and punch.

OK,thanks for everybodys input...

I will take it apart and give it a whirl.

FYI:.....it is an F-710-A ratchet.

Anybody know the vintage?....50's,I'm guessing?

AWESOME!

Kind of off-topic,but while I have everbodys attention......

Have several older Snap on items that I thought I'd post.

Both are made in Canada.

I don't recall seeing a non-polished plated wrench with a textured surface before.

Found the socket interesting as it appears to have a custom machined taper on the hex end and is stamped "no guarantee".

Any comments are appreciated....can anyone date these items?
