I was wondering if anyone out there can help for me with an old Air compressor. I acquired it a few months ago @ a garge sale & overall it runs fine but I have a few basic questions. As near as I can tell, it is from the 1930's made by Lacer-Hallett corporation. It has a 3/4 HP Wagner electric motor & the compressor pump has an 18" flywheel. It runs very quiet but does not make air very fast. It also has some Milky/oil blow-by that oozes out of the pressure relief valve on the pump as well as out of the tank. I'm in the process of replacing the rings on the 2 pistons so hopefully that will help.

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the Lacer-Hallett corporation and also if there is an effective way to increase the output of the air in order to get the tank back up to pressure when I'm using it. Based on my calculations I thknk the pump cranks at about 300 to 325 RPMs & generates about 4 - 5 CFM of air. The unit has a 55 gallon tank & is very heavy duty.

Here are some pictures of my project. Thanks for any help that anyone can offer.

Paul

I have what appears to be the same compressor just older. Mine is a Model B5 and it is locked up, I think it has a bearing that is seized. I'm going to tear into it this weekend and see what is wrong. Looks to be a nice heavy duty compressor though.
