a $3 yard sale find. Aside from rust and missing handle, all casting without breaks or damage, and acme screw/nut looks and works well.

Oval slide, no? I have one. Parker put patent dates on that collar plate, I think. Then later their name.

EDIT: Or maybe not. Others made the same style. Post it on the Mega Vises thread. Someone there will know. Lots of different Parker and other ovals slides have been posted and identified there.

Twagler. thanks for your reply and citing the E-bay post. That e-bay sure looks identical to mine, but without a maker's mark, I'm still curious about establishing value. Nonetheless, I am happy to add to my vintage shop/machine collection. best, Edmund.

Twagler, after some further research today, I'm convinced it's a Chas. Parker. Gonna give it a good bath in vinegar and use it well.

I think you are likely correct, and that the ebay listing was a mis-identification. I took a quick look at some of the Millers Falls catalogs that are available on the VintageMachinery website, and your vise has certain features that did not match those images. Have you found a catalog image and specific model number of a Parker that matches?
