Hey Everybody, I was talking with my dad over the holidays and he brought up how he has this electric hammer drill that he loves but he is missing the retaining ring so the bit are always falling out. It pretty old so he has no idea where to look to get one or even documentation on what it looks like. He is a tool guy like us so I have been telling about the GJ site for a while and I figured this would be a great place to start the hunt for the retaining assembly. I took a bunch of pictures to help.

I had one of those years ago. If I remember correctly, there is no retaining clip. They use taper bits that fit and lock in place in a similar way that Morse tapers lock in place. They use "star" masonry drill bits (largely now obsolete) that have "A" or "B" type tapers.
