Vintage C. Parker Vise

Does anyone know the history of a C Parker Vise marked marked "GG"? Large heavy vise (100+ lbs) with 6" jaws.

I just picked up a Parker vice that appears to be a No. G. Does anyone have any info on this vise. It's a 145 lbs monster. Thanks in advance.
