I took down our old ceiling fan to replace it with a new one. I looked the old one up on eBay and there is one for sale for 599.00. I got to looking and ours is a Fasco Charleston model 542 with real walnut blades. Does anyone know anything about these? Are they really worth anything?

I've got two vintage ceiling fans--a Hunter and a Casablanca. Both have heavy, cast brass housings, and both are almost completely silent in low speed operation. I'm guessing both were from the late '60's or early '70's. All the new, Chinese fans all have an annoying hum in low speed.

I'll bet that you haven't seen many like this one hanging in the game room in the party garage

It has the real wood blades on all 3 motors

And the belt driven fans in my diner are old too.
