Good evening. I have a vintage Chas Parker 1074 vise. Not being that familiar with this tool, I am told there is a part missing, that should be attached to the end of the drive screw. I would appreciate any info you may have, even better if you have a spare part I could purchase. I don't even know what that part does or is called. Please advise if you know.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Something is not as original. The Parker screw does not protrude from the end of the slide.

Remove the front collar, turn out the screw, pull out the slide and show us photos of the pieces.

I just added another photo ..... it shows a piece on the end and if you look closely at the end of my screw you can see its threaded, so, i think I'm missing that piece ..... I have no clue what its called ....

I've never seen an example of that vise (Parker 1074). It looks similar to the Parker 974 but with a shorter slide and the "screw lock" feature. It looks like the thumbscrews on the device could be tighted to lock the main acme screw in place and keep it from loosening/tighenting the main jaws. The vise could still function normallly withouth it but would not be lockable. Interesting piece.
